It’s no surprise with a career spanning over 10 years: Rebelle knows how to keep her audience engaged. Last week, Dutch commenced a call to action utilizing her social media platforms on Instagram and Facebook requesting they text her to get a #SpecialDelivery. By Friday, Dutch collaborated with sponsors such as The Record Co, Joe’s Training, M and M BBQ, Afrobeat Fit, SOE Complex, Lifted SG, ViiiVillada, Rose Budz, Irie Restaurant, I and I Rose Garden, Dee Dee’s Island Cooking, Bred Gourmet, and Turn the Page and Sage to hand deliver (wearing a custom ViiiVillada mask of course) gift bags filled with merchandise.
From philanthropy work with KOREKTHO, performing at First Night Live, working with emerging artists such as Miranda Rae, Dutch does it all. Her catalog is extensive with over 60 videos on her YouTube channel. Rebelle’s admiration and love for Boston is evident in tracks “Beantown Ish” that highlights areas, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roxbury and Dorchester. “Sunday Morning” (featuring Amandi produced by Mr. Light Upp) with the first scene taking place at the Massachusetts Ave Train stop to “SupaFly'' produced by J. AS Productions at The Record Co to her latest track “Big Zoe”, produced by Intl Show which she later released the remix featuring Eddy Fish, Shellz, Hundred Round Kado and Reem Skully. Dutch Rebelle is about her city.
The key to her formula from an outside perspective is based on consistency and staying organic. When asked, “how has the pandemic affected you creatively, she stated, “The lockdown has allowed me to appreciate really sitting with yourself and hearing yourself out. I can record at home but it can be challenging sometimes to stay focused when you want to paint your wall and sh**.”
